Early lead not enough for the Lady Bulldogs, drop 12-7 decision to De Leon

The Lady Bulldogs came out firing, but couldn’t hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 12-7 ballgame against De Leon on Tuesday at De Leon. An error gave De Leon the lead in the fourth inning. Yvette Villarreal racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Lady Bulldogs.

Venus Track Meet @ Dallas Gateway has been cancelled

The Dallas Gateway track meet scheduled for February 28, 2015 has been cancelled.  The next track meet will be March 5, 2015 @ Rio Vista starting approximately at 3:45 PM. Maypearl Scrimmage Good Work for the Bulldogs

Coach Jeremy Walker brought his Maypearl Panthers to Venus Saturday where the two teams played a controlled scrimmage with both the JV and Varsity squads. Today, at 12:30 pm, Venus Girls Varsity Soccer embarked on a wonderful journey.  Behind the fabulous goaltending of Fey Esparza, offensive scores by Yosli Luna and Julia Brown, and strong supporting play by Shelby Lindly, Reyna Romero, Leslie Cruz, Celeste Olalde, Kacey Virgil, Raquel Myre and the rest of the team.  Venus Bulldog Soccer returned

Runnin’ Bulldogs get set to face off in the Bi-District Playoffs!

On Tuesday, February 24th, the Runnin’ Bulldogs will be headed north of Fort Worth to play at Saginaw Chisolm Trail High School as they face the Bridgeport Bulls in the Region I Bi-District Playoffs at 6pm.  The Bulls are the district champion of district 8 and are currently ranked #5 in the state in 4A.

Played first district game in 3 years

The Girls Varsity Soccer team returned to district play versus Alvarado on February 10, 2015.   The girls were very aggressive in the first half, garnered their first opponent’s red card as one Alvarado player was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct.  The girls went down 2 to zero for the first half, playing very tough defensive soccer. 

Brown Commits to Tarleton State University

Venus junior shortstop Easton Brown verbally committed by phone to the Tarleton State’s Assistant Baseball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Mark Jeffery this morning, accepting their offer which will cover 100% of his tuition at Tarleton. He had visited the campus for a recruiting visit on January 29th and walked away with a good feeling about the school,

Tough Loss on the road

The Lady Bulldogs journeyed to Wichita Falls with the Boys Varsity and both played Wichita Falls Hirschi.   The Lady Bulldogs suffered an 8-0 loss behind solid games from Yecenia Escatel, Shelby Lindly, Julia Brown, and Alissa – the goalie. Our next game is Tuesday at Alvarado at 7:30 pm and Friday at 6pm home
